Public-private dialogue urged for development
Dialogue important to identify commonalities for an environment conducive for investment
LAHORE:
Dialogue between public and private sectors has been a prominent feature for decades in a number of countries and is considered important for promoting private sector-led economic development, said Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Mohammad Jahanzeb Khan.
He made the remarks at the third session of the Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) Council, organised by the Investment Climate Reform Unit (ICRU), Planning and Development Department on Wednesday.
Private-sector heavyweights had gathered there to support economic growth in Punjab. Members of the PPD Council explored how the provincial government and the private sector, along with other relevant stakeholders, could effectively put to use the PPD platform and identify the most efficient ways and means to find commonalities for an environment that was conducive for investment.
