Improving policing: IGP reprimands DPOs over poor performance

Inspector General of Police Punjab says, every step should be taken to arrest criminals involved in different crimes

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Punjab Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan has warned DPOs of Okara, DG Khan and Rahim Yar Khan to improve their poor performance in their respective jurisdiction and arrest proclaimed offenders.

He expressed these views while addressing a video link conference of all RPOs and DPOs of the province on Tuesday. He asked them to enhance progress within one month and also the safety of property and lives of the public. He directed taking all possible available steps to eliminate anti-social and criminal elements from society. He told officers that every step should be taken to arrest criminals involved in murder, kidnapping for ransom and robbery besides other culpable crimes and furnish a weekly report to CPO office.

“The security of worship places of minorities, educational institutions, foreigners especially Chinese and security plan under the supervision of DPOs and RPOs should be ensured, the IGP said.
