A teenage girl was gunned down over the kidnapping of another girl in Fateh Mohammad Chachar village, Ghotki on Sunday night.
The gunmen raided the village and broke into Mohammad Chuttal Chachar’s house. They overpowered the residents and asked about Momal, who was kidnapped on April 24.
When the residents said that they did not know, they opened fire. Chachar’s 17-year-old daughter, Pari, was killed on the spot.
The Adilpur police shifted the body to Ghotki hospital for an autopsy, and on the complaint of Pari’s mother, Horan, registered FIR No. 61/2011 against seven people, including Maula Bux Chachar, Mohammad Murad Chachar and others. No arrests were made till the filing of this report.
Sources said that 18-year-old Momal, who is the daughter of one of the alleged gunmen Mohammad Murad Chachar, was kidnapped by armed men on April 24.
Her father had registered a case against Nandho Chachar, the younger brother of Mohammad Chuttal Chachar. Nandho Chachar was arrested earlier, and he is in jail on judicial remand.
Sunday night’s attack was an attempt to recover the kidnapped girl. However, the gunmen killed another girl instead and fled.
