Officers of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) would get a salary increase and revision in pay scales along with an increase in insurance coverage, establishment of utility stores and allotment of houses and plots soon, announced PIA Managing Director Nadeem Khan Yousufzai.
Yousufzai, while addressing the officers at a function organised by the PIA Senior Staff Association on Monday, said that the long-standing demand of the association for revision in pay scales and increase in salaries, according to a memorandum of understanding signed between the management and the association, would be put before the board of directors for approval.
He said that the association’s request for confirmed tickets (international routes) for officers after 10 years of service instead of 15 years had also been approved.
He also announced an increase in the insurance coverage for officers from Rs600,000 to Rs1,200,000 in case of death of an employee during service, employment to immediate family members in case of death as per employees quota and two weekly holidays for officers and staff of the reservation section.
He also gave directives for accelerating work on withheld promotions of officers, especially in the IT department.
Yousufzai also announced the establishment of utility stores for PIA employees where they would have the facility to buy goods on credit. Other projects were also under way, which would be announced soon, he said.
