Suspects arrested : Police, Rangers conduct search operations in Shahzad Town

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police along with Pakistan Rangers on Sunday conducted search operations in various areas of Shahzad Town a police spokesman said.

According to details, Police and Rangers and other law enforcement agencies conducted joint search operations in various areas of Shahzad Town police station.

Under the supervision of  SP (Rural), SHO Shahzad Town who also joined the search operation police commandos, lady commandos and staff of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) also participated in it.

They screened a 100 houses and checked more than 140 people and interrogated them.

Meanwhile ASI Turabul Hassan from Aabpara police arrested suspect Sarfraz Masih and recovered 20 litres of liquor from him

Shalimar Police  ASI Safdar Hussain arrested another suspect Naseem Khan and recovered 7 bottles of liquor from his possession.

ASI Saleem along with police team recovered 2 stolen mobile phones from a female suspect Safia Bibi.

Cases have been registered against the apprehended suspects while further investigation is under way.

SSP Najeebur Rehman explained that the purpose of this search operation was to ensure high vigilance in the city and every effort will be made to ensure protection of the lives and property of citizens.

He has also appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.

The SSP also directed to accelerate efforts to get rid of he menace of drug pushing.
