Abducted Daewoo hostess to be brought before court

Express May 26, 2010

SIALKOT: The District Police Officer (DPO)has assured the high court that the Daewoo hostess who was kidnapped recently will be recovered from her abductors by June 2 this year.

Police officials have insisted that the Daewoo hostess who was raped earlier this year and was kidnapped a few days before her court hearing will be recovered as soon as possible. The girl’s sister has filed a writ in the high court stating that police have kept her sister, brother in law, younger sister and mother in illegal custody. Her sister also alleged that the police were pressurising her sister to identify several criminals they had arrested as the culprits in her hearing. “When my sister refused to do so, they kidnapped her,” she said.

The DPO told the court that the station house officer at Hajipura had been suspended and he submitted an affidavit in the court stating that he would present the woman before the court by June 2. The court then announced that it would wait for the girl to be presented so that she could identify the real culprits behind the incident. The hearing has now been adjourned until June 2, 2010.
