Anti-encroachment: 594 handcarts confiscated in Pindi Cantonment  

RCB also seals five food outlets for poor cleanliness and unhygienic conditions

RAWALPINDI: As part of its grand operation against encroachers, the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has confiscated 594 handcarts, 1,100 counters and other goods from different markets in February.

Moreover, the RCB also sealed five food outlets for poor cleanliness and unhygienic conditions.

RCB spokesperson Qaiser Mahmood said that they had accelerated their ongoing operations against encroachers and food outlets selling substandard and unhygienic food.

Launched on the instructions of Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO), the operation saw fines worth to over Rs1.5 million imposed on those violating the law.

The anti-encroachment team also removed sheds which had been illegally installed outside shops in various commercial areas of the cantonment, Mahmood said.

Anti-encroachment teams also visited areas including Saddar, Gawalmandi, Chungi 22, Tench Bhatta, Bakra Mandi, Haider Road, Mall Road, Saadi Road, Kashmir Road, Police Station Road, Railway Station Road and other markets.
