ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Pir Syed Saddaruddin Shah Rashdi said on Friday that the government has geared up efforts for recovery of outstanding salaries and end-service benefits of repatriated Pakistani workers from Saudi Arabia. After a four-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, he held a promising meeting with his Saudi counterpart Minister for Labour and Social Development Ali bin Nasir Alafees in Jeddah and discussed the payment process of outstanding salaries and end-service benefits, said a press release.

The minister said enhancement of manpower quota for Pakistan, accreditation of Pakistani technical institutes and work place safety assurance were also discussed. He added that the Saudi labour minister had assured of an early resolution, terming it a multinational issue for which other countries are also pushing the Saudi government.
