QUETTA: A light downpour in Quetta on Friday became a cause for concern for the people as the tall claims about cleanliness made by the authorities proved to be hollow.

As the sewerage system was clogged, dirty water accumulated on the streets. People found it difficult to walk in most areas like Mikangi Road, Imdad Chowk, Mission Chowk, Korai Road, Gawalmandi Chowk, Browri and Qarani where the water was accumulated.

Balochistan shivers from cold spell

On one side were the tall claims of cleaning the drainage system, while on the other the dirty water on the roads had made the life of shop owners and residents miserable. People have demanded of the Metropolitan officials to get the sewerage system cleaned.

The dirty water accumulated on the roads has laid bare the Metropolitan team’s and the authorities’ tall claims about cleanliness. The garbage lying by the roadside also caused immense difficulties for the people going for Friday prayers.
