Accountability Court : Witnesses testify against Sadiq
An accountability court recorded statements of three prosecution witnesses in a reference against Ahmad Sadiq.
LAHORE:
An accountability court on Saturday recorded the statements of three prosecution witnesses in a reference against Ahmad Sadiq, former principal secretary to Benazir Bhutto. The court summoned further prosecution witnesses and adjourned for May 28. According to the investigating officer, Sadiq’s assets amassed during his career in government service from 1957 to 1984 are disproportionate to his income. The National Accountability Bureau had filed a reference against him, but it was disposed of under the National Reconciliation Ordinance. The reference was restored after the Supreme Court struck down the NRO.
