Man slaughters sisters after split with wife

Shafqat tortured and killed his two sisters after they quarreled with his wife.

MULTAN:

A man tortured his two sisters to death after his wife left him following an argument with his sisters on Friday evening. According to police officials, Bodla Town resident Muhammad Shafqat’s wife quarreled with his sisters and left the house on Friday.

“The women of the house often bickered but recently they had accused his wife Naseem of stealing some of their jewellery and the quarrel escalated,” said a servant at the house.

New Multan Station House Officer (SHO) Saleem Qasim said “A servant at the house told us that the recent fight had escalated and after Shafqat’s sisters hit his wife she packed her bags and left. He was at work when it happened. When Muhammad Shafqat returned home and found out what happened he tortured his pregnant sister Shahana and 20-year-old sister Rubina with a kitchen knife. Shafqat later killed both his sisters and hid their bodies in a room before he escaped.

Police officials sent both bodies to Nishtar Hospital for an autopsy. The post mortem report confirmed that both women had been severely tortured and that their throats had been slit.  New Multan police have taken the bodies into custody and started an investigation into Shafqat’s whereabouts.  Police officials are also questioning Shafqat’s wife in this regard.
