Farming Foibles: Small farmers ignored by Food Dept

Farmers in the Sahiwal tehsil staged a protest against the Food Department in front of the Electronic Media Club on Saturday. The protesters Riaz Khokhar, Muhammad Amir, Ahmed Sher and others from Dhool Kadhee, Khoor, Khusken, Chandana and GhaziAbad tehsil Sahiwal said that poor and small farmers were being ignored whereas influential farmers in the area were being provided with fertilizers and equipment at their doorsteps by the department. The farmers said that last year’s floods had already affected the farmers and they desperately needed the assistance of the food department.
