LAHORE:

The level of development throughout the province will be raised to a uniform height, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday.

He said development projects in the southern districts were a priority of the government. In this regard, he said, 11 districts had been identified under the Southern Punjab Development Programme (SPDP) where projects were being executed at an accelerated pace.

Sharif was presiding over a meeting to review the progress in the development projects underway across the province.

He urged the officials concerned to identify projects for the next financial year that could be completed quickly and were beneficial to the people.

He said education was the top priority of the government and that more Daanish Schools would be built throughout the province.

He said six Daanish Schools had started functioning in Bahawalpur division and foundation stones for three schools had been laid in Dera Ghazi Khan, Mianwali and Attock.
