Former prime minster Nawaz Sharif's request to club the three references against him was once again rejected by the the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) on Wednesday, reported Express News.

The request was heard by Justice Saqib Nisar in-chamber. During the hearing, Aisha Hamid appeared as Nawaz’s lawyer.

New reference contradicts last one, says Nawaz’s counsel

The CJP maintaining the objections of the registrar office rejected the request to club the three references together. It was remarked that according to the constitution, a request cannot be filed once an appeal has been rejected after review.

Nawaz had adopted the stance in the request that an order to file a single reference on more than one property can be passed.

In November, an accountability court had rejected an application filed by the ousted prime minister to have three references filed by NAB against him and his family merged into one.

The apex court had disqualified Nawaz in the Panama Case on the July 28, 2017 and had further ordered NAB to file references against him.
