HEC working to impart training to teachers in Balochistan: LID chief

Assures UoT of complete support in promotion of higher education at conclusion of workshop

QUETTA: HEC’s Learning Innovation Division (LID) Director General Fida Hussain has said that the commission is working on a comprehensive programme to train the teachers of universities and colleges in line with requirements of the modern era.

He stated this at the closing ceremony of a three-day training workshop on ‘Quality in Education and Research’ held at the Gwadar Campus of University of Turbat (UoT) on Monday.

The workshop was arranged by UoT’s Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) in collaboration with LID of the Higher Education Commission.

Hussain appreciated the efforts of vice chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir and his team for the quick development of the UoT’s main campus in a short time.

He said start of Gwadar Campus in a few years was a big achievement of the UoT.

Turbat University striving to make a mark

He said he was glad to see the zeal and commitment of the students of the area in acquiring higher education.

He assured the UoT management of his support in the development and promotion of higher education in Balochistan.

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Akhtar Baloch, Turbat University Registrar Prof Dr Haneefur Rahman, UoT QEC Director Prof Dr Gul Hassan, Municipal Committee Gwadar Chairman Abid Rahim Sohrabi and Gwadar Campus Director Ijaz Ahmed also spoke on this occasion.

Turbat University launches two scholarship programmes

Teachers from main campus Turbat, Gwadar Campus, degree college Gwadar, girls’ college Gwadar and GDA college Gwadar participated in the training workshop.

At the end, the commemorative shield, university annual report and certificates were distributed among resource persons, guests and participants.
