Hostel homicide: Body of teenage girl found in boy's hostel

Police say the girl was most likely gang raped and murdered.

A body of a girl that was found in Kamalia Government Degree College for Boys has been identified. On Friday, police officials identified the body of a girl found in the boy’s hostel.

Police officials said the girl, Salma, 14, was from Pattoki and that she had most likely been gang raped and murdered.  The police registered a case and arrested an accused in the case. Police officials also sent the body for an autopsy.

According to police officials, the body was recovered two days ago and sent for an autopsy. “The tests confirmed that the girl had been severely tortured and that she was most likely raped before her throat was slit,” said Inspector Javed Khar.


According to the police, the girls clothes were torn when they found her and the body bore torture marks. Police officials have arrested one accused, Ghulam Mustafa, on suspicion. Mustafa had been housing the body in his hostel room in a cupboard and has identified two of his accomplices. Police are conducting raids for the other two accused.  Deputy Director Mian Arshad said that college professor Asad Javed was told on the phone by a youth named Imran that he had killed the girl. Imran was removed from college five months ago for misconduct and police are searching for his whereabouts.
