Groundbreaking: ‘Technical skills important for youth’
Developed countries progressed after imparting technical education to their youth
LAHORE:
National Assembly Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Chairperson Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh has said that developed countries progressed after imparting technical education to their youth. These countries provide 60% to 70% job opportunities to youth having technical education.
He said this while addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of Government College of Technology (GCT) at Chiniot, a press release issued on Thursday stated.
Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) chief Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and district administration officials were present.
He said technical education was important for youth in the country.
Qaiser added that 60 kanal land was selected where building for 1,000 students will be built at a cost of Rs550 million which will be completed in two and half years.
He maintained initially, four DAE courses will be offered at the GCT while driving course will also be started. He urged youth of Chiniot to get skilled training to get better jobs.
