Provision of 4G enabled phones for Punjab farmers

FAISALABAD: Under the E-Credit Scheme of Punjab Kissan package, farmers of Punjab province are being facilitated through provisions of 3G- and 4G-enabled smartphones, along with free SIM cards. They were also provided one GB monthly data bundles under the connected agriculture platform to improve their yield through easily accessible advisory of modern agriculture practices and access to experts and raw-material providers. Under this programme, about 110,000 smart phones are being distributed throughout the province in the first phase. A total of 30,000 smart phones would be distributed in Faisalabad.
