COAS directs for facilitation to tribal brethren in FATA, says military's media wing in a statement
The temporary displaced persons (TDPs) of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) can now use computerised national identity cards (CNICs) as the documents of identifications for payments of compensation.
"COAS directs for facilitation to Tribal brethren in FATA," the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
"Watan Cards earlier issued as ID document for payment of compensation to TDPs no more required," it added.
The military's media wing further said, "Henceforth, CNIC will be taken as ID document. Those without CNIC can use Watan Card till 31 May 18 and obtain CNIC by then."
The TDPs were previously issued Watan Cards to assist them in the monetary compensation as well as identification.
