G-B govt seeks PFA’s assistance to provide quality food products

PFA is helping other provinces to end menace of sub-standard, adulterated food products from market as well

LAHORE: To ensure provision of quality food products to citizens, Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) government has sought Punjab Food Authority’s (PFA) assistance to establish a similar organisation in G-B.

In this regard, a high level delegation of the G-B administration on Tuesday called upon PFA Director General (DG) Noorul Amin Mengal to seek authority’s assistance in administrative and legal matters. The members of PFA scientific panel were also present in the meeting.

The PFA chief briefed the G-B delegation about legal and administrative model of the provincial food watchdog. He highlighted that the PFA was helping other provinces to end menace of sub-standard and adulterated food products from market. He pointed out that the PFA was also providing similar assistance to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government.

Head of G-B delegation Sanaullah said, “PFA is the best model and soon uniform policy will be implemented in G-B.”
