Vocational training will empower the nation: AJK president
Sardar Masood Khan visits Aman Foundation to see efforts being made in health, education sectors

Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan visited on Monday The Aman Foundation to see the efforts made in the development of the education and health sectors. The AJK president visited the Aman Tech building where he interacted with the students.
He was also given a tour of the flagship life-saving Aman ambulance service and its operations.
President Khan expressed hope that The Aman Foundation's vocational training programme at Aman Tech will empower the youth of Pakistan. The president also expressed his keenness for The Aman Foundation to expand its operations to AJK. To date, Aman Tech has 10,200 graduates, with a placement rate of 69%.
During his visit, the president said, "The purpose of vocational skills' development in the youth is for them to have access to an educational cycle that includes practical training in different trades such as automobile, mechanical or refrigeration along with life skills". He added that a trainee should be allowed the benefit of making mistakes and learning from them so that they are capable of facing challenges at work.

Briefing the president on the projects, Aman Foundation Chief Executive Officer Malik Ahmad Jalal said, "The Aman Foundation's aim is to create systemic change and exponential social impact by catalysing innovative and scalable solutions in health and education, transforming lives and empowering the people of Pakistan".
Jalal also expressed his concern about the shortage of ambulances in Karachi. "Karachi needs more live-saving ambulances that can treat patients while taking them to the hospital. As of now, there is only one ambulance for every 340,000 people against a standard of one for every 100,000 people," he said.
