Group involved in selling bone marrows of girls in Punjab arrested

Suspect Amna has admitted she has been involved in this activity along with a group for a while

A group involved in selling bone marrow of girls belonging to poor families has been busted in Hafizabad.

The gang involved in extracting bone marrow from the spine of girls had been operating in Punjab. The group used to lure girls belonging to poor families by offering them attractive packages for dowry.

Police have arrested several suspects, including a woman, and registered a case.



Police had received information that suspects Muhammad Aslam, his wife Amna and Nadeem used to lure the girls to their home by offering them dowry packages. Under the pretext of conducting a medical test, they would extract their bone marrow with a syringe for sale to patients needing transplant.

According to the police, Nadeem, a resident of Sharif Pura, claims to be an employee of the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Hafizabad. Amna admitted that the illegal activity had been going on for quite some time and around 90 girls had fallen prey to it.

According to sources, the affected girls are suffering from pain and weakness.
