District council chairman says farmers facing immense hardships

DERA ALLAH YAR: District Council Chairman Capt (retd) Muhammad Zubair Khan Jamali has said that the green belt land of Jaffarabad district is running dry due to scarcity of river water.

“Farmers are facing immense difficulties in wheat cultivation due to non-availability of river water,” said chairman Jamali while addressing a conference on Thursday.

“Development funds will not be given to district council members who do not participate in the conference,” he added.

Jamali said high-ups of the irrigation department had been apprised of the situation and soon the “issue of non-availability of river water will be resolved”.

He also said to include the district council members in the district local committee so that domiciles of locals could be made easily.
