A world class, post graduate level, university for women in Azad Jammu and Kashmir is being planned by the state government, sources informed.
It would offer courses in Sciences, Information technology and Computer Sciences. According to sources, after the federal government’s formal approval to extend assistance for the establishment of the university, steps were being taken to improve the education system in the region. Also, public sector colleges named after Benazir Bhutto have also been approved at Chitterpari and Mirpur.
The government also has plans to introduce evening classes in various technical disciplines in all the state-run institutions of eight districts. Moreover, a Poly Technical Institute is also in the pipeline. Sources said the government is also contemplating to establish software parks and IT Institutes in all district headquarters.
