Athletics: Gay to run 150m in Manchester

American sprinter to race over the 150-metre street in European debut.

NEW YORK:
Former 100-metre and 200-metre world champion Tyson Gay is set to make his first European appearance of the year at the Great City Games in Manchester on May 15.

The American sprinter is ready to race over the 150-metre street meeting on Deansgate. Gay, who set the world’s best record for the 200-metre race on a straight track in Manchester last year, eyes a repeat of that performance. “I’m just looking forward to coming back to Manchester and I want to perform as well as I did last year,” said the 28-year-old.
