PESHAWAR: The China Study Centre at the University of Peshawar (UoP) can play a vital role in enhancing relations and friendships between the people of Pakistan and China.

This was stated by Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing during a visit to the centre at the University of Peshawar (UoP) on Thursday.  The centre, Jing said, provides opportunities to Chinese students to learn about the culture and tradition of Pakistani people.

“We are ready for [extending] every kind of support to enhance the educational opportunities for people of both countries,” he said.

The envoy added that Pakistan-China relationships were very high on the agenda of both countries who were supporting each other in not only the economic sector but also in education and other sectors as well.

Jing added that the centre could play an important role in the uplift of the region.

To improve relations between both countries, the envoy said that China will offer more scholarships to students of Pakistan.
