LAHORE: Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan has said working of the Punjab Police department has been made at par with modern parameters of the contemporary era with the introduction of information technology.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting to review IT projects at the Central Police Office.
He said with the help of modern gadgets and softwares, police department would be able to curb crimes and resolve the issues of the masses on preferential basis. “More projects should be launched with the help of information technology keeping in view the rules of the community and smart policing for facilitation of the public. Steps should be taken for efficient monitoring and extension of these projects,” he said.
Accompanied by his delegation, PTIB chief Umar Saif participated in the meeting while Additional IG Establishment Azhar Hameed Khokar, Additional IG Welfare and Finance Muhammad Tahir and DIG IT Sharaq Kamal Siddiqui were also present on the occasion.
The meeting discussed at length IT projects of Punjab Police especially working performance of the front desk, complaint management system, criminal record management system, and Welfare Eye.
