LHC petitioned to seek public hanging of child molesters
Barrister Javed Iqbal demands that an example be made of those who sexually abuse children
Lahore High Court (LHC) has been petitioned to seek the public hanging of suspects involved in sexually abusing children and circulating their videos over the internet, Express News reported.
The petitioner, Barrister Javed Iqbal, has argued before the court that the suspects involved in this heinous crime have spread terror and chaos in the society through their actions.
Senators suggest rationality on public hanging
"We are witnessing an increase in incidents of child molestation because the judicial system has not made an example of the culprits with a public hanging," he said.
The petition Iqbal has filed notes that child molestation spreads fear and terror throughout the society, and consequently, those who have been charged with abusing minors should be hanged publicly so that such incidents can be avoided in the future.
Previously, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also stated publicly that he wants the culprits involved in the rape and murder of an eight year-old girl in Kasur to be hanged publicly.
