Veteran actor Zeenat Aman files molestation complaint against businessman

An investigation has been launched against the businessman who is currently on the run

Veteran Bollywood actor Zeenat Aman has filed a molestation complaint against a local businessman, Mumbai Police said on Monday.

The complaint has been registered under sections 304 D (stalking) and 509 (insulting modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code, reported NDTV.

The two were well acquainted for a while but the relationship soon turned sour. Following this, the Deewaangee star ended all forms of contact with the businessman. Nevertheless, he allegedly kept calling and following her.

Aman, 66, registered a complaint against him at Mumbai's Juhu police station. An investigation has been launched against the businessman who, according to ANI, is currently on the run.

The first Indian woman to win the Miss Asia Pacific pageant in 1970, Zeenat made it big in Indian cinema with Hare Rama Hare Krishna. The film was followed by a number of other hits before she decided to hang up her boots for good.

“I had been working ever since I was a teenager but after the birth of my son, I wrapped up all projects and decided to give time to my family,” she says.

While her contemporaries continue to make screen appearances every now and then, Zeenat is not sure about coming back. “I will act only when something age-appropriate comes my way.”

The former Miss India is one of the most popular actors of the 70s. She is the star of films such as Yaadon Ki Baraat, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Heera Panna, Qurbani, Don, Insaaf ka Tarazu, Lawaaris and several others.

Aman was credited with modernising film fashion with her bell-bottoms, chokers and boho-chic tunics. She last starred in the bilingual film Strings of Passion.
