TDAP asked to sell textile quota worth Rs664m

ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly has directed the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to deposit Rs664 million, earned through sale of textile quota, in the national exchequer.

The Public Accounts Committee, which met at the Parliament House on Tuesday with acting chairman Riaz Hussain Pirzada in the chair, reviewed the audit report of the Ministry of Trade and Commerce for the audit year 2008-09. The committee asked the ministry to take immediate steps for bringing the money in the national exchequer.

The meeting also took notice of 600 acres of land of the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) and directed the ministry to file a petition in the court for getting the said land and present its report within one month.
