Benazir case: Transfer plea to be decided May 11

Application seeks the transfer of case from Rawalpindi bench to Lahore.

LAHORE:
A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday fixed May 11 as the date to decide an application seeking the transfer of a petition which demands the registration of an FIR against the former president Pervez Musharraf, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi and others in the Benazir Bhutto murder case, from the Rawalpindi bench to Lahore.

Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam, protocol officer of Benazir Bhutto, filed the application and submitted that authorities in Islamabad could influence the judges hearing his petition at the Rawalpindi bench of the high court, so the case should be heard in Lahore.
