Islampura police have refused to register Punjab Civil Secretariat (PCS) officer’s complaint against the additional chief secretary, the home secretary, the Lahore DCO and Race Course police personnel.
PCS officers vice president Naveed Ahmad said that following court orders, section officers Robina Kosar and Uzma Afzal, both suspended, had tried to file an application each at the Islampura police station. However, he said, the duty officer used delaying tactics and the SHO had slipped away in anticipation of their visit. Ahmad said they would move court for contempt against the police for denying them the chance to register their FIRs.
ASI Muhammad Boota, the duty officer at Islampura Police station, said he had received two applications but it was up to the SHO to decide whether to register FIRs. Additional District and Sessions Judge Ameer Khan on Tuesday had directed the Islampura SHO to register FIRs on Kosar and Afzal’s pleas.
