Bin laden killing: Only Foreign Office can comment, says Rehman Malik

Interior minister says FO and interior ministry fully cooperating with each other on the issue.

ISLAMABAD:

Only the Foreign Office was authorised to give official statements and comments over the US operation in which Osama Bin Laden was killed, said Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday.

Talking to reporters outside the Parliament House, he said the Foreign Office and interior ministry were fully cooperating with each other on the issue and there was complete harmony between the two ministries.

The minister also said he will not make any statements, adding that other political leaders had also been asked to abstain from issuing statements on the issue. He urged media to avoid speculative reporting and said that the issue was extremely sensitive.

No doubt he is asking everyone to keep quiet, as there are too many conflicting statements and some really ridiculous blame others comments too are appearing in the World's Media. Especially the ones coming from the PM in Paris, which really has not gone down too well with western Media or in European Capitals either. The Presidents article in WP also was very broad and lame. One thing is for sure, no one in Pakistan is prepared to accept any responsibility for having OBL in the country.

Tell us who has put Pakistan's security at risk by sheltering OBL? Tell us if we have done it on Saudi's direction please.

Nana | 12 years ago | Reply Same situation like Raymon Davis case where also truth was hidding from public. we all well known this is very sensitive issue, should be handled intellignently and positively. Whatever drama staged on Abottbad do not care but we care about outcome of this to Pakistan.Already we faced a lot of problems globally do not want to other one.

The biggest fugitive in the history was sleeping under his bed, under his watch, and he is asking everyone including the PAK elected representatives to shut up. How is this issue extremely sensitive, to whom, for him or people of PAK. Forget the rest of the world. PAK wants to know, now.
