PU to promote industrial biotechnology, bio-refining
Research and development ventures underway

The Punjab University will develop joint venture in research and development (R&D) products with industrial and business sector to convert agricultural and organic wastes using modern biotechnology and bio-refining methods.
These views were expressed by Punjab University Faculty of Life Sciences Dean Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan while addressing the concluding session of a symposium on industrial biotech and bio-refining. The event was organised by the Centre for Applied Molecular Biology (CAMB).
Dr Naeem Khan urged the scientists to exploit the huge economic potentials offered by biotechnology companies in the field of industry, agriculture, health and environment. He said the academia-industry linkage to ensure the commercialisation of applied research was the need of hour that could revolutionise agriculture, industry and health sectors in the country.
