LAHORE:
Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed has claimed that incidents of abduction, rape and killing of women or minors are increasing in Punjab, but the rulers are not sincere in taking measures to stop them.

He expressed these views while speaking to journalists at Punjab Assembly on Friday. He said, “The rulers are busy in protecting themselves from corruption cases, leaving the poor masses on their own.” He added the rulers played the role of silent spectators in the Kasur incident and other such cases.

“The law and order situation is pathetic and the rulers claim the crime rate has declined.” Mehmoodur Rasheed remarked, “The dream of Mian Shehbaz Sharif to become prime minister of the country will never become a reality as he has to clear himself in the Model Town killing and NAB corruption cases.”

He added the country will be left on the verge of destruction if Shehbaz Sharif, who claims to be ‘Khadim-e-Ala’ of Punjab, becomes ‘Khadim-e-Ala’ of the country.

He said farmers were destroying their crops, while students, clerks, doctors, nurses and others were protesting on the streets to get justice, but the CM was thinking of becoming the prime minister of the country.

“No one is ready to take action against those who are speaking against the judiciary and other institutions. Those who are spewing venom on institutions will get nothing.”
