Vice-president of Egypt's Al Azhar University due in Karachi

A prominent figure in the Islamic world, Dr Mohammad Mahmoud Abu Hashim, who is the vice-president of the 1,000-year-old Jamia Al-Azhar in Egypt, is arriving in Karachi on Thursday on the invitation of Silsilah-I-Azeemia.

Dr  Abu Hashim and his host Dr Waqar Yousaf Azeemi are scheduled to interact with journalists at the Karachi Press Club in the afternoon, said an official statement issued on Wednesday.


The Al-Azhar University VP will attend the 27th Annual Spiritual Workshop, being held at the Annual Urs of Imam Silsila-I-Azeemia Hazrat Mohammad Azeem Burkhia (RA) on Friday.

This intellectual gathering will be participated in by delegates from various cities of Pakistan besides the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, European Union, Russia, Middle East and many other countries, read the statement.

The Head of Silsila-I- Azeemia, Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi Shaib, Dr Abu Hashim, Dr Azeemi, Dr Rashid Mateen and other dignitaries will address the gathering.
