Woman, daughter 'gang-raped' by 10 men in front of family elders in Muzaffargarh
Influential suspects in Shah Jamal area sexually assault the victims throughout the night in a nearby field
In a harrowing incident, 10 men have allegedly gang-raped a woman and her young daughter in front of the former’s elderly parents in a village on the outskirts of Muzaffargarh district of Punjab.
The sickening incident took place on Tuesday night and the local police registered a case against the accused on Wednesday.
Local influential people allegedly broke into the house of the woman’s parents in Shah Jamal village, snatched a mobile phone, and some money from her 10-year-old son, according to Express News.
The woman was staying at her parent’s house as her husband was stationed in Dera Ghazi Khan for work.
The alleged assailants, identified as Khizar, Bilal, Amir, Asif, Kamran and Imran among four unknown people, resorted to severe torture after the woman and her daughter resisted their attempt of sexual assault.
Main accused in Zainab’s case sent on 14-day physical remand
The victims were then dragged to a nearby farming field and allegedly gang-raped by the suspects throughout the night in front of the woman’s father Manzoor Hussain and mother Zohran Mai. The suspects fled away before the break of dawn.
An FIR of the incident was lodged at Shah Jamal police station on the victim’s application. However, all suspects are still at large.
A sharp increase has been witnessed in reporting of incident of such nature ever since the brutal rape and murder of eight-year-old Zainab in Kasur shook the collective conscience of the nation earlier this month.
A similar incident was reported from the Mardan district of Kyber-Pakhtunkhwa, where a minor girl, Aasma, was subjected to the same brutality. She went missing on January 13 from the Gujjar Garhi area and was found dead the next day.
