Mohsin Ali, an upcoming fashion designer from Quetta who emerged with a spark with his latest collection, said he wanted to work for Pakistan before moving on to the west.

“Pakistan is where I want to work because it needs us. I want to give back to my country what fame and success it has given to me,” said Ali while speaking on The Morning Show with Huma Amir Shah on Express 24/7.

Ali, who graduated from the Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design (PIFD) in Lahore, launched his collection Fables and Dreams earlier this year, whose inspiration he said was drawn from a children’s story “The Princess and the Pea.”

Reminiscing on how he got into fashion designing, Ali said that he always wanted to be a technician but decided against it.

“I saw a TV show on fashion designing 4-5 years back which got me interested in this field… I gave a test for PIFD and luckily made it through,” he said.

He said he believed that the way to be successful in life was to be true to yourself, "because when you believe in yourself, people eventually believe you too".
