Chitral youth scholarship expo held
Alumini from foreign universities brief students on how to apply
ISLAMABAD:
Students and professionals of Chitral living in the capital converged to an exposition of international scholarships at a local hotel the other day.
Organised by Chitral Youth Forum, the International Scholarships Expo 2018 was specially designed for boys and girls from Chitral having qualification from intermediate to master’s level in any subject and living in the twin cities.
The participants got an opportunity to interact with different alumni who gave them presentations and consultation on different scholarship programmes like Fulbright, Erasmus, AusAid, Chinese, SUSI, UGRAD, and YES.
Gilgit Baltistan Investment Board Vice Chairman Raja Nazimul Amin said this expo is a very good opportunity for students of Chitral to learn about available opportunities for international scholarships.
Throughout the day, students and professionals visited the expo and talked to representatives from national and international educational institutions for career guidance and information.
A recent Erasmus Graduate, Kisa Fatima and AjayTanwani came to the expo for information on Erasmus and IELTS for foreign universities. Kisa said anything which is stopping you from applying to these scholarships is not something impossible, you just need to trust yourself and have good intentions to achieve it.
A number of professionals including university and development sector experts also visited the expo, for information on postgraduate studies.
AusAid Scholarship’s Hayat Muhammad Khan talked about Australian Universities and the process of application of AusAid. University of Bristol Country Manager Saif Uddin motivated the youth towards their dream. He asked everyone to think what their dream is and then follow that dream. “Many of us have dreams but we never plan to achieve them,” he said.
Alumni from various scholarships of United Kingdom, Australia, United States, Germany, United States, Canada, Swedenand China participated in the event.
Ambreen Baig from Fulbright Scholarship said “The youth of Chitral are taking keen interest in international scholarships. We are guiding them on how to apply and how to appear in interviews if they get selected.”
