Nawaz has always played with his 'own umpires', says Imran Khan
PTI chief says the deposed PM wanted a judge whom he could influence on writing the Panama Papers judgement
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has criticised deposed premier Nawaz Sharif for the latter's alleged attempts to manipulate the judiciary to get a verdict in his favour in the Panama Papers case.
The top court dismissed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz in a landmark judgement in the aforementioned case on July 28 last year.
"NS's problem is he has always played with his own umpires and wanted a judge like Justice Qayyum whom he could influence on writing a judgement," Imran said on the micro-blogging website twitter on Sunday.
"Hence SC decision traumatised him and has led him to carry out a campaign attacking the country's superior judiciary," the PTI chief added.
In an earlier tweet, Imran said, "Now the motive behind NS's public meetings has become evident with his declaration that the SC will have to take back their decision on his disqualification."
According to the PTI chief, "He [Nawaz] is seeking to build public pressure & in the process has let slip the fake sincerity in his desperate cry: Mujhe kyun nikala."
The PML-N has been leading a campaign against Nawaz's ouster from power, saying the masses have rejected the court's decision.
