‘Enforce Sharia law within seven days’, Sialvi gives deadline to Punjab govt
Spiritual leader says instead of embracing Holy Quran and Sunnah, the PML-N govt was clasping Rana Sanaullah
Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi of Astan-e-Aalia Sial Sharif has threatened the Punjab government to enforce the Islamic Sharia within a week or else be ready to face a province-wide protest, which he claimed would bring life to a halt.
Addressing his devotees outside the Data Darbar in Lahore on Saturday, the spiritual leader vowed to continue the movement of Khatm-e-Nabuwat, or the finality of Prohethood (pbuh), till his last breath, Express News reported.
This was the third Khatm-e-Nabuwat conference organised by the octogenarian pir from Sargodha within a month. The earlier two gatherings were held in Gujranwala and Taunsa Sharif.
Sialvi has been demanding resignations of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah over his remarks on the Ahmadi community in a televised show.
After three successive deadlines to the Punjab government to clarify its stance over Sanaullah’s comments, the Astana-e-Aalia had announced in December last year that it would not support the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the upcoming general elections and its followers would resign from the government.
Two MNAs and three MPAs in Punjab have already resigned since then.
Pir Sialvi says he won’t be part of Qadri’s anti-govt protests
In Saturday’s rally, Sialvi also took an oath from the audience to continue the struggle to ensure recognition of Khatm-e-Nabuwat in the country and live their lives in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Quran and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
“I am giving [the Punjab government] one week’s time and if Nizam-e-Mustafa [Islamic Sharia] is not enforced during this period than protests will be held across Punjab,” he said.
The sajjadah nasheen or descendant at Astan-e-Aalia Sial Sharif remarked that instead of embracing the Quran and Sunnah, the Punjab government was clasping Rana Sanaullah.
He urged his supporters not to vote for those in power. “Minor girls are being raped and murdered in every city and the government has failed to arrest the culprits,” he added.
