Need for disabled-friendly architecture urged
Access to educational, employment and recreational places needs to be improved

People at an interactive session called for enabling architecture and facilities allowing differently-abled people to access educational, employment and recreational places.
The session, meant to highlight the abilities of differently-abled people and their right to access physical spaces and opportunities was organised by the Chamber of Women Social Entrepreneurs Pakistan and ‘Ramp is Right’ campaigner of Kafe Kaam in collaboration with the National Council of Social Welfare.
Highly skilled young professionals with different disabilities participated, who despite witnessing an obvious disdain for disability in Pakistan, are striving to thrive. Advocate Brig (retd) Arshed Tariq shared his personal experiences and of his son late Sarmad Tariq who was a special sportsman.Disability rights adviser Romella Hammed highlighted the relevance of providing livelihood opportunities to the differently-abled people.
