PA condemns Mardan rape-cum-murder case
Opposition demands audit of Ashiana housing scheme
LAHORE:
Treasury benches demanded exemplary punishment for the suspect involved in rape and murder of a minor girl in Mardan.
The demand was made by PML-N legislator Hina Pervez Butt through her resolution she submitted in the provincial assembly. She said the sympathies of the House were with the family of a deceased minor. She said it was it was a matter of concern that the number of abduction, rape and killing of minor girls has surged to an alarming level but the culprits were still at large. Criticising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s government in K-P, she said the gory incident of Mardan revealed the tall claims of PTI chief Imran Khan.
The legislator said a girl was forced to walk naked on streets of DG Khan and four-year-old Asma was killed after rape. She was of the view that the incident was a slap on the faces of those in politics.
She said the House strongly condemned the incident and demanded exemplary punishment for the accused to avert such gory incidents in future.
Meanwhile, the opposition benches demanded a fair audit of Ashiana housing scheme, strict action against those allegedly involved in corruption and possession be given to the allottees who paid the complete amount.
The demand was made by PML-Q legislator Chaudhary Amir Sultan Cheema in his resolution he submitted in the Punjab Assembly contending that the people have strong reservation over irregularities in the housing scheme of Sargodha and Lahore.
He implored the people were not being given the possession of the houses despite they deposited the complete amount. He demanded a fair audit of the project and further demanded strict action against those involved in corruption in the housing scheme.
