At least 772 traffic accidents were reported to the Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all 37 districts over the last 24 hours.
Two people lost their lives, while 533 suffered injuries and were shifted to different hospitals. However, around 326 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged immediately after being provided first aid by emergency medical teams.
According to the data, 368 drivers, 15 underage drivers, 122 pedestrians and 371 passengers were among the victims of these traffic accidents. The statistics show that 213 RTCs were reported to the Lahore control room and these affected 205 people, thus placing the capital on the top of the list followed by 59 in Multan with 70 victims. Gujranwala had the third highest number of casualties with 54 RTCs and 55 victims.
A total of 861 victims were affected by road traffic crashes, including 661 men and 200 women, while the age groups showed that 121 of the victims were under 18 years of age, 503 were between 18 and 40 years of age and the remaining 237 victims were above the age of 40. According to data, 607 motorcycles, 121 rickshaws, 61 cars, 39 vans, six passenger buses, 25 trucks and 79 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the aforesaid traffic accidents.
