‘No evidence of abuse found on Kainat’

No evidence of abuse was found on evaluation of six-year-old Kainat Batool by medical team at the Children’s Hospital.
This was informed by Dean Institute of Child Health and Children hospital Lahore Professor Masood Sadiq in a statement on Saturday.
He said that Kainat was first admitted to the hospital in November 2017 in a very critical condition and she remained on ventilators for five days when she was evaluated by the medical team. “She was also kept in ICU for almost a month and was discharged on January 2,” he added.

He said that she had suffered anoxic brain damage confirmed on MRI, he added. She made a partial recovery since then but she is still on nasogastric feeding and cannot speak. She is being provided 100% free treatment on personal advice of the chief minister of Punjab. Dr Sadiq said that she had been re-admitted to the Children’s Hospital two days ago with an upper respiratory tract infection.
