Schools to hold awareness sessions for parents

Volunteer programmes are also being started for awareness about traffic discipline and security

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Sultan Azam Temuri has asked the administrators of educational institutions to launch awareness sessions with parents of children to ensure their security and Islamabad Police would cooperate in this regard.

He said this while presiding over a meeting at Central Police Office attended among others by chairperson and member Private Educational Institution Regulatory Authority, chief executive officers and administrators of private schools and colleges.

Temuri said Islamabad Police had constituted a Human Rights and Child Protection Committee and the women’s police station would be also upgraded.

He said volunteer programmes were being started outside the educational institutions of Islamabad for awareness about traffic discipline and security.
