Accused driver of Jinnah underpass accident arrested

KARACHI:

Johar Town police arrested the main accused driver of Jinnah underpass accident which took lives of five students on Wednesday last week.


SHO Zahid Shah told Express that the driver Afzal was arrested on a tip off from Narang Mandi.


During the preliminary investigation, the driver said that he had no knowledge of the students sitting on top of the bus. He added that it was the mistake of the conductor who boarded them on the bus.


The police also arrested bus conductor Sajid from the Kala Shah Kaku area.


In further development, nine traffic wardens and two inspectors were suspended for not stopping the overloaded bus.

Dr imran Khan | 13 years ago | Reply The question here is that buses are not allowed to go through the underpass, the second question is if he was not guilty why did he run away after the accident.
