In the wake of increasing pressure from the United States on Pakistan for allegedly providing safe havens to militant outfits, China on Monday opposed the idea of linking terrorism to a certain nation as well as placing responsibility on a certain country, according to Radio Pakistan.
In his recent tweet, President Trump alleged that the US has ‘foolishly’ given $33 billion in aid to Pakistan but in return Pakistan has provided safe havens to terrorists.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang said that "pointing fingers" at each other is not conducive to global counter-terrorism efforts.
"Terrorism is a common enemy of the world and crackdown on the menace needs joint efforts from the international community," Kang said during a press briefing in Beijing.
He reaffirmed Islamabad's sacrifices and contributions in the war against terrorism.

“As we have stressed many times that Pakistan has made important sacrifices and contributions to the global anti-terrorism cause," Kang was quoted as saying.
"China defends the countries that make anti-terrorism efforts in a just and fair way," he added.
Kang said that China welcomes all global efforts on the basis of mutual trust and mutual respect against terrorism.
