Youm-e-Shuhada: Slain FC officers in Balochistan honoured

Glowing tribute to the sacrifices rendered by FC personnel for the restoration of peace and stability.

Inspector General Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan Major General Ubaidullah Khan paid glowing tribute to the sacrifices rendered by FC personnel for the restoration of peace and stability in the region.


He honoured the personnel on the eve of Youm-e-Shuhada – a day to remember all those officers and FC personnel who sacrificed their lives while on duty– at Gaza Bund Scouts Buleli here on Saturday.


At least 323 FC officers and personnel were martyred in Balochistan during the past ten years, according to an FC spokesperson.

Meanwhile, a similar event was held in at the Bahawalpur Cantonment. The day started off with special prayers for the martyrs in all mosques located in Bahawalpur Garrison.

Later in the evening, a ceremony was held at the garrison which was attended by families of the martyrs, civil and military officers and media representatives, amongst others. Corps Commander Bahawalpur Lt Gen Muhammad Haroon Aslam laid a floral wreath and offered prayers at the Shuhada Monument.
