Hospital funds embezzlement: Inquiry committee formed in Hyderabad
A sum of Rs3.8 million was reportedly embezzlled in September last year

In the matter of alleged embezzlement of funds in District Red Crescent (DRC) Hospital in Hyderabad, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Saleem Rajput has constituted an inquiry committee.
A sum of Rs3.8 million was reportedly embezzlled in September last year from the general hospital, which is located in Latifabad.
Muhammad Farooq Memon, chairperson of the hospital's board of directors, wrote to the DC, who is also president of the DRC, for an inquiry on September 22, 2017. The DC notified on Friday a five-member committee, headed by Prof Idrees Ahmed Khan and comprising District Health Officer Ahmed Haider, two assistant commissioners Muhammad Hassan Tariq and Muhammad Muthar Wattoo and a DSP of Hussainabad police.
The committee has been given 30 days to determine how the funds were embezzlled and to fix responsibility. It will also have to recommend action against the persons who are allegedly involved and submit propositions for improving the financial management of the hospital.
